NSF/NIH Compliance Policies

CSUF does not tolerate sexual assault or 骚扰 of any form.  This applies to all CSUF activities occurring on-campus or off-site.  的 National Institute of HealthNational Science Foundation have taken additional precautions to ensure institutions receiving funded research provide a safe learning environment and are free from sexual assault and other forms of 骚扰. To also comply with NIH and NSF policies on funded research, the CSUF 研究合规 office has outlined the sponsor's expectations and implemented the following CSUF 的指导方针.  

NIH/NSF | Policy for Reporting of Harassment or Sexual Assault 

Effective October 21, 2018, the National Science Foundation (NSF) requires all awardee organizations to notify NSF of any findings/determinations of sexual 骚扰, other forms of 骚扰 or sexual assault by any NSF-funded Primary Investigator (PI) or co-PI. It is NSF policy that all personnel supported by an NSF award must conduct themselves in a responsible and accountable manner during the award performance period, whether at the awardee institution, 在线, or outside the organization, such as at field sites or facilities, or during conferences and workshops.

的 National 研究院 of Health (NIH) has also recently reinforced similar policies, 的指导方针, 需求, and communications to make its expectations clear to the NIH workforce and NIH-funded organizations, and to take appropriate actions within their authority. NIH strives to ensure that individuals know their rights, where to report incidents of sexual 骚扰, 和 resources available to them.

NSF | Safe and Inclusive Off Campus Workplace Environments

的 National Science Foundation (NSF) announced in 2023 that, effective January 30, 2023, if a Principal Investigator (PI) submits a new or renewal proposal, the NSF will require the PI to take an additional step when engaging in off-campus and/or off-site research activities, 和 AOR must complete a certification that the organization has a plan in place for that proposal that describes how the following types of behaviors are addressed:

  1. Abuse of any person, 包括, 但不限于, 骚扰, 跟踪, 欺凌, or hazing of any kind, whether the behavior is carried out verbally, 身体上的, 电子, or in written form; or 
  2. Conduct that is unwelcome, offensive, indecent, obscene, or disorderly
